It's a bit of a miracle moment when you stumble across someone with such similar bookish tastes and after what I've seen I cannot wait to settle down with your posts and a mug of tea this week! Thankyou Dana for your matchmaking :-)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11911232519231082170noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3453339569920477816.post-4513030803811108102012-02-20T04:28:19.462+00:002012-02-20T04:28:19.462+00:00Can I just say how glad I am that Dana at Let'...Can I just say how glad I am that Dana at Let's Book It has 'introduced' us? It's good to know that you and your book groups see where I'm coming from with the whole 'man's man' image .. however I have to say that The Paris Wife really has ignited a huge Hemingway curiosity in me, I hope it does for you all too. I also adore Paris. Which makes it all the more interesting!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11911232519231082170noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3453339569920477816.post-83724753313803464862012-01-27T14:10:01.866+00:002012-01-27T14:10:01.866+00:00What a good review, thank you. I agree with you about Hemmingway being more of a man's author, certainly both of my all female book groups think so. It's not that they won't read him, it's just that there are other(male) writers they'd prefer.Victoria Corbyhttp://victoriacorby.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3453339569920477816.post-43966027556035090072012-01-23T19:38:28.828+00:002012-01-23T19:38:28.828+00:00Hi Rebecca

It is a dangerous game to see any writer as a 'man's/woman's author'... I suppose a combination of reputation and feedback from others have made me feel that way. It's a similar story with Joseph Conrad, who I also haven't read! :-O You're very encouraging - what would you recommend as the perfect introduction to Hemingway?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11911232519231082170noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3453339569920477816.post-88401109276029835792012-01-20T18:05:04.917+00:002012-01-20T18:05:04.917+00:00I really liked this review. I personally loved them and do not at all think he is a "man's author" and am not sure where you got that impression. I am much looking forward to the Paris Wife soon as our book group has chosen to read it. BTW I also like the look of your blog. Thanks a bunch and keep up the good work.Rebeccahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16791058490809175887noreply@blogger.com
